I’m pleased to announce that our first event will be held in April and will be a Titanic Tea to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking (actually, it’ll be *exactly* on the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, which, as a history nerd, I think is super cool). Edwardian dress is preferred, but not required (I realize that we’re a little less than 2 months away from this event and the challenge involved in putting together a whole new outfit (including underpinnings) in that amount of time), and there are some great Edwardian costume dramas to help get you inspired.
Right, so details. The tea will be held at the Hawthorn Tea Room in Tacoma, WA from 1-4. The cost is $16.16 per person(which can either be paid for in advance OR at the event itself), and that includes a seat in their semi-private dining room, as well as their complete “Damselfly Tea Luncheon” set, which includes a scone (with Devonshire cream, jam, and/or lemon curd), fruit, tea sandwich, and three flavors of tea.
So, if you’re in the Puget Sound area and interested in attending this event, please send me an RSVP to my e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. In order to get the room, we need at least 7 people, but no more than 14 (right now we have 5 confirmed).
In the upcoming weeks, I’ll post more about Edwardian costumes and resources for those, as well as general info about the Titanic.
So, let the making of lacy undergarments commence!
